Interestingly, the makers have pulled a pun on the names of the two characters. In a twist, Arjun plays Pinky Dahiya and Parineeti plays Sandeep Kaur. She plays an ambitious girl from the corporate world and Arjun plays a cop from Haryana. The poster bears a colourful sketch of the two, which has 'Faraar' stamped across like pamphlets as the two are believed to be absconding in the film. The duo certainly pull off their part well as Arjun bears a straight face and Parineeti sports glasses like a quirky corporate girl. The two were first seen together in Arjun's debut 'Ishaqzaade' in 2012 which was a critical and box office success. They were seen together for the second time in 'Namaste England' in 2018 which opened to overwhelmingly negative reviews and was a commercial flop. Parineeti was last seen in 'Jabariya Jodi', also a flop. Arjun was last seen in Ashutosh Gowarikar's period drama 'Panipat' opposite Kriti Sanon, another box office failure.
'Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar' is an upcoming dark comedy film directed by Dibakar Banerjee. The film stars Arjun Kapoor, Parineeti Chopra, Pankaj Tripathi, Archana Puran Singh, Kanwaljeet Singh, Sheeba Chaddha, Sanjay Mishra, Raghubir Yadav, Neena Gupta, Jaideep Ahlawat, Amrita Puri, and Rahul Kumar. The film is produced by Yash Raj Films and is set to release on 20th March 2020.
