The film hit the theatres on 28th February and is raking in all the praises- from the critics to the government making it tax-free in Madhya Pradesh and Delhi to the industry peers hailing it as the most important film of the year 2020.
The petition filing site, Change. org India and the makers of Thappad have come together to urge the censor board to make it mandatory for films that showcase any kind of domestic violence in their films to carry a disclaimer just like it is done each time a potentially disturbing visual appears on the screen.
The lead actress Taapsee Pannu urges the viewers to sign a petition after the entire video takes stock of everything that is shown as a disclaimer for a film, much in a conversation between the two lead actors. This unique take on reality definitely registered itself as the most significant appeal to the viewers.
Earlier, Taapsee had urged the viewers to report its second trailer with a gut-wrenching take on the storyline that highlights the nuances of relationships and violence. Not only the earlier asset got a strike for being the most reported but even the disclaimer unit has become a movement with its impactful message- which is not going to stop anytime, with an evident growth in the number of signatures being seen.
Thappad is produced by Anubhav Sushila Sinha and Bhushan Sudesh Kumar, and directed by Anubhav Sushila Sinha, starring Taapsee Pannu and is winning hearts all across!
