They evoke laughter whenever they appear on the screen. But what appears to be a cakewalk to the audience is not really the same behind the screen. And this was quite evident when India's top YouTubers Bhuvan Bam and Ashish Chanchlani came together for the shooting of #VMateAsliHolibaaz, a short film produced by trending short video platform VMate.

While the behind-the-scenes snippets are full of laughter, the film is actually slated to be a competition, with the top YouTubers vying for the top slot. However, going by the fun they shared during the shooting, it makes one wonder if the two popular entertainers care about who the winner would be.

Ashish Chanchlaniis playing a double role in the film - one of a pestering father and the other of himself. #VMateAsliHolibaaz's behind-the-scenes videos unveiled how the double-role scenes were filmed with the help of a junior artist. When Ashish played one character, the cue for his positioning and dialogues were given by the junior actor, who performed the acts essayed by the other protagonist. While this is a tricky proposition, considering the nuances involved, Ashish managed to ace the act, considering his brilliant skills.

However, the fun dose was doubled when Bhuvan Bam joined Ashish on the sets. In the course of shooting their sequences in adherence to the script, the two performers managed to crack jokes and even gossip about the Indian YouTube community, which is ruled by them. It is after looking at behind-the-scenes videos that one could realize how an intentional bump could be made to look unintentional on screen. Their off-screen chemistry suggested the impact the duo would have in the film.

Thanks to the two YouTubers and their impeccable sense of humour, they ensured that the atmosphere on the sets of the film remained lively, despite a tight schedule. Their intermittent cracking of jokes made the crew burst into laughter, easing out the tensions associated with filmmaking.

If sources are to be believed, in attendance on the sets were a few other VMate creators. According to some of them, they were also part of the shoot. This not just adds to the excitement, but also highlights a great opportunity provided to the creators by the trending short video platform.

While this is about the fun and happening that went off screen, the real on-screen fun is scheduled for March 8, 2020, when #VMateAsliHolibaaz, the film starring the YouTube sensations, will be released on VMate. The first look and the trailer of the film have already garnered massive response across all social media platforms.
