SRK had worked with Rishi Kapoor JI in one of his first films 'Deewana' back in 1992 and remembering Rishi JI Shahrukh Khan tweeted a note and a picture with him from a still of Deewana writing "Heartfelt condolences to the Kapoor khandaan. May Allah give you all the strength to deal with your loss." One of the lines of his note read, "I will miss him for his gentle pat on my head every time we met".
His note read "As a young man entering the daunting world of films, I was insecure about the way I looked and afraid that I was not talented enough. The thought of failing meant nothing though, because even if I failed, I would have worked with the greatest actor I knew of - Rishi Sahib. On the first day of the shoot, he sat for my scene to finish after pack up, then with that famously radiant smile on his face he said "yaar tujhme energy bahut hai. That day in my head I became an actor! Few months ago I met him and thanked him for accepting me in that movie, he had no idea how he had encouraged me, (sic)`. Check it out here -

Rishi Kapoor was diagnosed with cancer in 2018 and spent almost a year in New York being treated for that. He came back to India last year and resumed shooting for 'Sharmaji Namkeen' with Juhi Chawla but had to stop due to health issues and was even admitted to hospital two times in the past months. He breathed his last yesterday in Mumbai and died at 08:45AM.
