As the festival of Durga pooja is on its way in Bengal, filmmaker Shoojit Sircar appealed to various Durga Puja organising committees to opt for a low-key celebration this year and use the funds to rebuild the state which was recently hit by Cyclone Amphan.
Shoojit Sircar shared a post on his Instagram, he requested the organisers of the Durga Puja, one of the largest annual festivals in West Bengal which is likely to be held in October, to donate all the expenses for a better cause. Check it out -
Recently, Shoojit Sircar made news when he decided to release his movie 'Gulabo Sitabo' on Amazon Prime Video. A lot of controversies happened on this thing, as it will affect the theatre market. But now it's going to release on June 12, 2020. Inspired by a pair of folk puppets, and set in Lucknow, the film, which is Sircar's first attempt at satire, follows a bickering duo, an elderly landlord Mirza (Amitabh Bachchan) and his young tenant Bankey ( Ayushmaan Khurrana). The film is also Sircar's fourth film to have been written by Juhi Chaturvedi.
