Talking about his decision to cast Sushmita in the lead role, director Ram Madhvani says, `Sushmita is the definition of grace and substance in front of the camera. When we developed this show and its lead character, we had to look for someone who plays the several layers of this character with nuance. Sushmita fits this character like a glove.`

He further adds, `Aarya is someone who could go to any lengths to protect her family, especially her kids. And Sushmita seamlessly flowed into the character. No one could be a better choice than Sushmita to play Aarya.`

Hotstar Specials presents Aarya starring Sushmita Sen, Chandrachur Singh, Namit Das, Sikander Kher, and many more in the pivotal roles. The nine-episode crime drama, produced by Ram Madhvani Films (with Amita Madhvani as co-Producer) and co-created and co-directed by Ram Madhvani, is all set to stream on 19th June on Disney+ Hotstar VIP.
