Sushant Singh Rajput was a rising Bollywood star who recently ended his own life by hanging himself with a ceiling fan at his Bandra apartment in Mumbai. On June 14th, 2020, the news of his suicide broke and shocked the entire nation. According to the circulated news, his body was found hanging with the ceiling fan around 1:30 PM when his domestic helper who tried to wake him up for lunch, found his bedroom door locked and called a locksmith to open it.
Just after the news came out, social media was flooded with condolences, grievances and pictures of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput remembering him and asking him "why did you do it?". Reportedly, the actor was suffering from depression from quite a long time and was on medications as the police found some medicines from his apartment. Sushant's fans started making assumptions behind his anonymous death and outranged on Bollywood biggies when filmmaker Shekhar Kapur tweeted and disclosed that he knew the story of the people who let Sushant down so bad. Then Kangana Ranaut also bashed on Bollywood and made some very serious allegations against nepotism and favouritism Bollywood over the suicidal case of Sushant Singh Rajput. Kangana's team shared a video where she was outraged on Sushant's death claiming that despite Sushant's intelligence, he never got his due even after having a series of strong performances at the box office. Meanwhile, on June 16th, 2020 social media was flooded by Sushants' colleagues' 'RIP' posts, his real friends had bid their goodbyes by attending his last rites. From Kriti Sanon to Shraddha Kapoor, Vivek Oberoi, Raj Kumar Rao, we had seen many people from the film fraternity, who were present at the Pawan Hans Crematorium. But the big Bollywood celebs like Karan Johar, Salman Khan, Alia Bhatt and others who shared their griefs for the late actor on social media didn't attend his last rites.
The bashing and the allegations kept on increasing as more and more actors & celebs came out and spoke about their experiences of bullying and their careers getting destroyed by some Bollywood biggies. This led to the Netizens bashing them all directly for their two-faced characters resulting in Salman, Karan and Alia, and Sonam's mass unfollowing social media. Subsequently, Sushant Singh Rajput started gaining new followers post his death.
Meanwhile, the provisional post-mortem report revealed that the cause of death was asphyxia due to hanging. The post-mortem was conducted at Dr RN Cooper Municipal General Hospital in Mumbai. According to the report of 'The Economic Times' Mumbai Police as well as the crime branch officials visited his rented flat on Sunday, but nothing suspicious was found. The police said that the actor had spoken to his sister on the telephone around 9 AM on Sunday. An hour later, he had a glass of juice and took his tablets. The police added that the cook knocked several times on his door around 11:30 am to confirm the menu and when the cook and the actor's two friends who were staying with him in the house got no response, they then called a key-maker who helped open the door. The friends then rang up with his sister and the police."
On June 17th, 2020, due to the allegations, a case was registered against eight members of the film industry, including Karan Johar, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Salman Khan, and Ekta Kapoor in connection with Sushant Singh Rajput suicide case in Muzaffarpur court, Bihar. According to the India.com's report, "In the complaint, advocate Sudhir Kumar Ojha has alleged that such situations had been created for Sushant that forced him to take the drastic step. The case is filed under sections 306 (abetment of suicide), 109 (punishment of abetment if the act abetted is committed in consequence and where no express provision is made for its punishment), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of IPC." Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut had been listed as a witness in the case.
Following the circulated news, celebrities like Dabangg director Abhinav Kashyap, Raveena Tandon, and Vivek Oberoi, singer Sonu Nigam, Abhay Deol and others came forward and talked about Bollywood's ignorant behaviour with outsiders and new talent. They specifically highlighted the B-camps running in the town and how the industry is controlled by a few people and top production houses.

Now fans are circulating the news that Sushant Singh Rajput was actually murdered or led to believe that he should commit suicide if not murdered directly. There are theories claiming that he was reportedly hung with the help of curtains, but the marks on his neck look more of a plastic rope (According to the pictures that were circulated on the internet). There was no suicide note found after his death and the actor was also not facing any financial - crisis. According to theories circulating on social media, Sushant had organised a closed friend group party at his house a night prior to his death and was in talks with his dad maintaining family touch.
