Despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, 'The Yulin Dog Meat Festival' is going to be organised once again in Yulin, Guangxi, China, in which goers eat dog's meat and lychees. The festival began in 2009 and in the span of about ten days, thousands of dogs are reportedly consumed by the people. This festival always got criticised on the international level and now Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan has shown his anger and spoke up against the festival.

Kartik Aaryan shared a picture in which he can be seen with his pet dogs and captioned it, "Har saal Dil Todte hain yeh Yulin Festival waale 💔 #YulinKMKB #StopYulin". Later on, the actor shared the same picture on the Instagram story and wrote, "Stop Yulin Dog meat festival'. Check out his post and Insta story here-

Celebrities including Anushka Sharma and Bhumi Pednekar had also appreciated Aaryan's effort to stop the controversial festival. According to the New York Post, the 10-day annual festival in the southwestern city of Yulin usually attracts thousands of visitors, many of whom buy dogs for the pot that are on display in cramped cages.
