Ajay Devgn's 'Maidaan' gets a new release date, to hit the screens on this day!
Ajay Devgn's Maidaan was all set to showcase the golden era of Indian football (1952-1962) but due to the Coronavirus pandemic the shoot of the film was delayed and now it has got a new release date. Ajay Devgn announced the new release date of Maidaan on Instagram while informing his fans to mark the next year's Independence Day for his movie. Earlier the film was set to release on December 11th, 2020 but now it has been pushed further.

Ajay Devgn shared the poster of 'Maidaan' on Instagram and captioned it, "2021 Independence week. On July 2018, Zee Studios had announced the film on India's most successful football coach till date Syed Abdul Rahim, under whose leadership, the Indian football team won the Asian Games in 1951 and 1962. The Indian football team won a Gold at the 1962 Asian Games in Jakarta and reached the semi-finals of the 1956 Melbourne Olympics when Syed was the coach.

In the movie, Ajay Devgn will portray the role of Syed Abdul Rahim. Directed by Amit Sharma of 'Badhaai Ho' fame, the film will now hit the screens on August 13th, 2021. Ajay next film, 'Bhuj: The Pride of India' is all set to stream on Disney+Hotstar soon.
