ZEE5's latest offering 'Mafia' is a thriller-drama that revolves around the story of six college friends who meet for a reunion after 5 years and this brings past lies and secrets to the forefront.

The series begins with Rishi (Tanmay Dhanania), Ritwik (Saurabh Saraswat), Ananya (Isham Saha), Sam (Aditya Bakshi), and Neha (Anindita Bose) getting back together for the bachelor party of their friend Tanya (Madhurima Roy) at their favourite holiday destination in Madhupur, Jharkhand where Rishi's father owns a bungalow in the middle of the wilderness with its own dark secrets. But these friends are unaware of what their destiny has in store for them and what follows is a series of thrilling and nail-biting events that leave you hooked to this Birsa Dasgupta directorial.


Mafia starts slow but picks up soon never to slow down. The story of Mafia is based on a deadly game that these friends don't know they are a part of which slowly and gradually turns them all against each other resulting in a mysterious and engaging ride.

Director Birsa Dasgupta has given his best in bringing the suspense and thrill in, never allowing you to look away from the screen even once. The story has many layers to it as it offers frequent flashbacks which keeps the adrenaline rush and the interest of the viewers on keeping them on the edge of their seats till the end when you finally figure out who is the actual 'Mafia' that is something that leaves in awe of this thriller-drama.


Talking about the performances, Namit Das as 'Nitin Kumar' brings life to the story as a cop who wants to help his community and looks extremely convincing doing so. Anindita Bose has done total justice to her role as 'Neha' the so-called 'Mother India' who is always ready to help her friends even when they don't want it.

Performances by Madhurima Roy as Tanya, Tanmay Dhanania as Rishi, and Ishaa M Saha as Ananya are also worth watching and the background music will also helps keep the suspense and thrill on.

In a nutshell, Mafia has enough thrill and suspense to offer to keep your wondering till the end that 'Who is the actual Mafia". So to know that, give it a watch if you like suspense-thrillers as this one won't disappoint you.
