The OTT platform has become another place to release the film in the lockdown. Many top Bollywood celebrities' films are releasing directly on digital platforms, and now another big film is set to stream digitally. On June 9, filmmaker Karan Johar announced that Kargil Hero Gunjan Saxena's biopic film will be releasing on Netflix instead of theatres but didn't disclose the releasing date. Now, according to a report by 'Bollywood Hungama' the film's release date has been leaked.

A Bollywood Hungama report says, `It's as patriotic a story as it gets and everyone associated with the film feels that August 15th is the best date for the film release. The idea is to pay tribute to the Indian Air Force Pilot, Gunjan Saxena, the first female to go on combat. A theatrical trailer of the film is being prepared right now and will be unveiled within the next 10 days.`

The report also says that the plan was to release the film on Kargil Diwas but post-production work took longer than expected. However, if all goes according to plan, the film's first trailer may release on July 26th as a tribute to Kargil martyrs.

'Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl' is a biographical film directed by Sharan Sharma and produced under Dharma Productions and Zee Studios.
