On 21 July, 'Muhammad: The Messenger of God' is scheduled to be released on the 'Don Cinema' digital platform, on which Sufi organisation Raza Academy wrote a letter to the Maharashtra government and mentioned that the film is hurting their religious sentiments. On which Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh assures them that action will be taken against the controversial film.

'Muhammad: The Messenger of God' is a 2015 Iranian Islamic epic film directed by Majid Majidi and co-written with Kambuzia Partovi and music is composed by A. R. Rahman. The film is set in the sixth century where the story revolves around the childhood of the Islamic prophet Muhammad. The film marks the biggest-budget production in Iranian cinema till the date.
