Bandish Bandits is an upcoming musical drama releasing on August 4th 2020 on Amazon Prime Video. This love saga is sure to make you fall in love all over again and the musical element just adds up to it.

Talking about the series in an interview with a leading daily, Director Anand Tiwari sheds some light on how and why Naseeruddin Shah was the perfect choice for the character of the grandfather and much more.

Talking about Naseeruddin Shah, Anand Tiwari says, `Naseer sir was a clear choice (to play the grandfather) since we began writing the scripts. We were clear about roping someone who could showcase his stature and gravitas the moment he walked into the frame without uttering a word. We know he is picky about his roles, but (I'm glad) it resonated with him at the end of the day."

Sharing a little about the character that Naseeruddin Shah will play, the director reveals, `Naseer sir plays a morally upright grandfather (and a Hindustan classical musician). He showcases varied character shades"

"We signed Shankar Ehsaan Loy because we wanted a blend of classical pop and contemporary music", says producer Bindra.

The ten-part series stars rising talent Ritwik Bhowmik and Shreya Chaudhry alongside veteran actors including Naseeruddin Shah, Atul Kulkarni Kunaal Roy, Kapur, Sheeba Chaddha and Rajesh Tailang.

Produced and created by Amritpal Singh Bindra and directed by Anand Tiwari, the all-new Amazon Original Series follows the love story of two young performers from very different musical backgrounds.
