A Delhi-based businessman has lodged an FIR with the police here against noted Bollywood music director Anu Malik and his brother Abu Malik alleging that he was being threatened by them.The R K Puram police have registered the case on the basis of complaint by Satish Gupta, proprietor of Sharp Travels, after the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) V K Maheshwari issued a direction in this regard, police sources said.
Gupta, in the FIR dated March 15 has alleged he was receiving threats from the Malik brothers since January 2000 after he started demanding his money back from them.He claimed he had paid Rs 15.85 lakh by five bank drafts and cash to Abu Malik as investment for his film Zordar, which was released in 1999.Abu had earlier convinced him to invest in his film promising big returns, the complainant alleged.
After he started demanding money, four men, one of them introducing himself as Ashok Chauhan, came to his office in Bikaji Cama Place on March 8 this year, saying that they had been sent by Anu and Abu Malik and warning him against demanding money, Gupta has alleged.Abu Malik had earlier called up Gupta at his residence on January 24 this year and issued threatened him, he alleged.
