A girl running on early morning street wearing a beautiful gown but the intensity on her face and confusion will let you think why her face is filled with such expressions. Well, the girl is Masaba who is finding her way in the tinsel town with a bunch of problems that wouldn't let her concentrate in her professional life, a husband who is now an ex, a boss to whom she always says, 'creativity is not a tap', a mother who is a star but still struggling to a get a film. With this, Netflix once again came up with rom-com web-series inspired by the major events of well-known actress Nina Gupta and her daughter Masaba Gupta.

The first episode of Masaba Masaba begins with a blind item, which points to Masaba and her husband Vinay's (Satyadeep Mishra) wedding spree. Vinay wants a separation, Masaba too agreed but Vinay wants everything to end up as soon as possible. This incident somewhere broke her and made her realize that she needs to divert her mind more into her work. Masaba deals with social scrutiny, professional pressure, and finally shifts back at her mother's (Neena Gupta) house whereas her mother Neena scores a meeting with some popular filmmakers.

Meanwhile, Masaba wants to live alone & start finding an apartment for herself and later on enters into a dating game with a painter (Smaran Sahu). So, will Masaba be able to deal with the disastrous fallout, and what will happen when her mother returns on the film set? You will get all the answers once you'll watch this fun ride.

The web-series is directed by Sonam Nair who is known for knacking comedy genre films but here her direction is simple and fluid. She has even written the series with Punya Arora, Nandini Gupta and Anupama Ramachandran and presented a predictable material with their visions. Although the storyline will keep you hooked with each scene.

It's quite interesting to watch ace fashion designer Masaba Gupta with her first acting gig. Although she looked convincing while portraying herself in the series but still, in a few moments you will feel that her acting chops need some finishing. Neena Gupta is a natural star and that is what she has shown herself on the screen, her comedy timing & essence of showing emotions always wins hearts.

Apart from the mother-daughter duo, the web series also features Neil Bhoopalam (Masaba's boss), Rytasha Rathore (Masaba's best friend) among many other noteworthy cameos including Kiara Advani, Gajraj Rao and Mithila Palkar and Farah Khan, who are inherently funny in their respective roles.

Overall, Masaba is a hot mess but not this show as it is a light-hearted web-series that will tempt you to watch it. The show, even with the existing ideas and expectations, is engrossing. All in all, Gupta ladies and their lives are full of emotions and dramas but you can't help but feel for them. Some incidents in the series are inspired by Masaba's and her mother's own life. So this 6 episode ride of 'Masaba Masaba' is a good watch if you want to be inspired by Masaba and her mother's life.
