The director of the show Sudhir Mishra shared in an interview in April that season 2 of 'Hostages' on Disney+Hotstar will be released in May 2020 but unfortunately it didn't happen. As per a report in a leading daily, he revealed that editing of all the episodes has been done. He also said that the coronavirus lockdown has led to the slow down of work.

Season 1, storyline traces an incident in the life of Dr. Mira Anand, played by Tisca when she and her children are taken hostage by a gang led by an IPS officer Prithvi (Ronit Roy). Prithvi asks Tisca to kill the Chief Minister of Haryana, Dr. Khushwant Lal Handa, who was getting treatment under her.
Hostages is a crime thriller web television series directed by Sudhir Mishra. It is an official adaptation of an Israeli series of the same name. The series is streaming in seven Indian languages on Hotstar and stars Tisca Chopra, Ronit Roy, Parvin Dabas, Aashim Gulati. and Mohan Kapoor. The series was also broadcast on Star Plus in April 2020. 'Hostages' season 2 will stream on Disney+Hotstar from September 9th, 2020.
