Paresh Rawal appointed Chief of National School of Drama
The National Film Award winner Paresh Rawal is one of the finest actors of Hindi cinema who won several accolades for his roles in films such as 'Woh Chokri' and 'Sir' and many more. He was even awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India, the fourth highest civilian award in India, for his contributions to the entertainment industry. On Thursday, with his great contribution to the cinema, Paresh Rawal is appointed as the chairperson of India's premier theatre training institute 'National School of Drama' (NSD) by the president of India, Ram Nath Kovind.

Sharing this information, Union Culture Minister Prahlad Singh Patel wrote on Twitter, `Renowned artiste Paresh Rawal has been appointed as Chairman of National School of Drama by Rashtrapati Bhavan. I am glad that students and artistes will be able to take advantage of his talent. I congratulate him." Check out his tweet here -



Talking about his career, Paresh Rawal started his showbiz career in 1982 with the Gujarati movie 'Naseeb Ni Balihari' and was later on seen in films like 'Bhagwaan Dada', 'Naam', 'Khatron Ke Khiladi' and Swarg. His work was more appreciated with films including 'Damini', 'Andaz Apna Apna', 'Mohra', 'Chachi 420', 'Hera Pheri', 'Aankhen', 'Sanju' and 'Uri: The Surgical Strike'.

In his political career, Paresh Rawal was a member of parliament in the Lok Sabha of the Indian Parliament representing the Ahmedabad East constituency from 2014 to 2019.
