The Mumbai Police has filed an FIR against filmmaker Anurag Kashyap after accusing actress Payal Ghosh of sexual harassment. Kashyap has already described allegations 'false, malicious, and dishonest' in his press release statement. The officer said that an FIR was lodged late Tuesday night at the Versova police station after Payal Ghosh's lawyer Nitin Satapute filed a rape case against the filmmaker. The officer said that an FIR has been registered under Section 376 (I), 354, 341 and 342.

Meanwhile, the Mumbai police are investigating the case and will soon call Anurag for interrogation. In the registered complaint, Payal accused Kashyap of raping her in 2013 at his place on Yari Road in Versova. Regarding the filed case, Payal Ghosh's lawyer Nitin Satpute said, "Finally FIR has been lodged against accused for the offence rape, wrongful restraint, wrongful confinement and outraging modesty of woman."

On the other side, Anurag Kashyap is receiving immense support from many Bollywood celebrities, including his ex-wives Kalki Koechlin and Aarti Bajaj. Both wives have shared supportive posts on social media and denied the imposed charges against him.

On September 19th, 'Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi' fame actress Payal Ghosh claimed the filmmaker Anurag Kashyap obscenely sought a sexual act from her. Well, the actress imposed sexual assault charges on Anurag while giving an interview to a Telegu news channel. The actress alleged that Anurag has forced himself on her extremely badly. Payal also appealed to the Prime Minister to provide her protection as she thinks her security is at risk and asked him to take action against Anurag.
