After spending her precious time in quarantine, Alia Bhatt has resumed the shoot of her upcoming film 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The biographical drama has been the adaptation of Hussain Zaidi's book, 'Mafia Queens of Mumbai'. In the film, Alia will portray the role of Gangubai Kothewali, a fierce brothel owner who was rumored to have had gangsters as her clients. More about the shooting schedules then the film set had been created at Mumbai's Film City.

The shoot has resumed with Alia and crew reporting on the sets at 7 pm, nearly after seven months. An anonymous source told the media publications that Bhansali has been filming night sequences before the lockdown. The source said, `To maintain continuity, Sanjay sir picked up the shoot exactly from where he had left it. Since October 1, Alia and the team have been reporting to the set by 7 pm, and the stint goes on till the wee hours of the morning. Although a part of the grand set had been pulled down ahead of the monsoons, the portion resembling Kamathipura had been left untouched. So, the director has been able to shoot without any hiccup.`

On the other side, after a gap of six months, SS Rajamouli has resumed the shooting of their upcoming period-drama film, 'RRR' amid the coronavirus pandemic. Alia Bhatt, who is also a part of the magnum opus, is speculated to join the star cast in the November month. As for now, she is focusing on Sanjay's 'Gangubai Kathiawadi'. Recently, she shared her excitement on social media and wrote, "So so looking forward to joining the team." Check out her tweet here -

Under the direction of SS Rajamouli, the film stars Ram Charan and N. T. Rama Rao Jr. in the parallel lead. The action drama also features Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt in pivotal roles. Apart from them, Rajamouli has also roped international names like Olivia Morris, Samuthirakani, Alison Doody, and Ray Stevenson. The film is scheduled to release in 2021.
