Ranveer Singh and Filmmaker Rohit Shetty had a blast at Box office with their film 'Simmba' in 2018. Now, this actor-director duo is collaborating once again for the remake of Gulzar's 'Angoor'. The director always wanted to remake 'Angoor' but wasn't much sure about the cast. There were reports that Rohit Shetty had Shah Rukh Khan in mind for playing the lead in the remake.

According to a leading portal, the filmmaker has put the project back on track now. And now reportedly he has Ranveer Singh in his mind to play the double role in the film. A media source revealed that `He (Rohit Shetty) has now got the much- needed break in the Covid pandemic, and he utilized the time to fine-tune and rework on the script of Angoor adaptation.`

Angoor is a comedy film that starred Sanjeev Kumar and Deven Verma in dual roles. The film was a remake of the Indian Film Do Dooni Char which was a remake of the 1963 Bengali language comedy film Bhrantibilas. The remake of Angoor will surely be an entertainer as it will have Ranveer Singh. This will be Ranveer's first movie in a double role.

Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh has lined up a lot of projects including Kabir Khan's '83' , a sports drama film on the life of former cricketer Kapil Dev. Deepika Padukone will be playing the role of Kapil Dev's wife in the film. He will also be seen in the titular role of Divyang Thakkar's 'Jayeshbhai Jordaar', a social comedy film.
