Shortly before 'Miss England' winner Eleanor Glynn, 21, hands over her crown to the next British beauty queen, she will already have started shooting for a film in London.

This almost sounds like the beauty queens in India and their career options. Eleanor Glynn is actually not too far from that Indian career option because she has been selected to play a role in the musical, India Rocks, directed by Aditya Raj Kapoor.

"One of the lead roles," to be fair to the heroine from Sandford-on-Thames, who is as delighted as other Enbglish actresses who have played major roles including leads in Indian films. Whether Lagaan or Kisna or Rang De Basanti, British lasses have bveen rocking important Indian blockbusters.

Shooting for India Rocks gets underway in London later this month and Glynn will costar with Mimoh Chakraborty, son of popular actor Mithun Chakraborty, who could not have got a more sensational debut break. Mithun himself debuted in an arthouse film, Mrinal Sen's Mrigaaya and won the National Award for it before he plunged into Disco Dancer type of tapori roles.

There seems to be another Bollywood connection to Glynn's foray into Indian cinema. Last January, Glynn was put on standby to take part in Celebrity Big Brother, but had second thoughts following Shilpa Shetty's bullying by housemate Jade Goody.

Last year, Glynn had taken part in a Bollywood dancing exhibition, and had the opportunity to meet many Bollywood film directors to discuss the possibility of her appearing in a movie.

She had said at that time: "I think there is definitely a gap in the market for a British girl meeting an Asian guy in one of these films and we'll see what happens." 'Miss England' organiser Angie Beasley is naturally happy that opne of their queens coudld be at the start of a great international career.

Known to love Bollywood dancing Glynn will be performing a Bollywood dance at the national final of 'Miss England' in Leicester on June 30, when she will abdicate in favour of the new queen.

Happily enough, Eleanor Gylnn is not a prima donna and does not possess a stiff upper lip. She has the natural ability to mingle with people from all walks of life, and that should hold her in good stead in case she dxecides to make Mumbai her permanent stopover.

As the 'Miss England' spokeswoman eulogised: "I wish we could give her a special award because she has been the best Miss England we have ever had."

Earlier this year, Glynn has also appeared in the 'Miss World' and 'Miss Europe' competitions, where she was told she was rejected by three top model agencies because she was "too large" at size 10.

That should be good news again for Glynn who is 5-feet, 9 inches and weighs eight-and-a-half stone because Bollywood prefers them big and buxom.

On her part, Glynn gave a talk at the Oxford Union about her experience and urged young models not to go on crash diets. Already under fire are size zero ramp models and Glynn's experiences could not have been more timely and exemplary. - (SAMPURN)
