Gulzaar's cult comedy, 'Angoor' in which all characters are innocent and destiny plays the main role in bringing all characters to one place. Most of the other films are generally based on false characters and deliberately make false statements to fool others but this film was different from others. Even for the film, Sanjeev Kumar and Deven Verma won the best actor and best comedian awards at Filmfare awards. Now, the king of action-comedy, director Rohit Shetty is coming up with its official remake starring Ranveer Singh in the lead role. Previously, he helmed the successful Bol Bachchan (2012) which was inspired by Hrishikesh Mukherjee 'Gol Maal' (1979).
Once again, Rohit is all set to cast Ranveer Singh after their successful cop universe franchise 'Simmba' (2018). In the untitled remake of 'Angoor', it is speculated that Ranveer Singh will be seen in a double role opposite Pooja Hegde & Jacqueline Fernandez. According to the media reports, `It's a double dhamaka of Ranveer, and both the actresses will be paired alongside the actor. Their track plays an important thread in building the confusion, which eventually brings the house down with laughter. It will be a first time collaboration for the two ladies with Ranveer. It's an outstanding well written role for both the girls."
'Angoor' storyline follows the lives of two pairs of identical twins who are separated due to an unfortunate incident. However, years later, their lives intertwine, leading to confusion and misunderstandings. Gulzar's film featured Sanjeev Kumar and Deven Verma in dual roles. 1982 Angoor was the remake of the Indian Film 'Do Dooni Char' which was the remake of 1963 Bengali language comedy film 'Bhrantibilas', based on Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar's Bengali novel by the same name, which itself was based on Shakespeare's play 'The Comedy of Errors'. So complicated just like its storyline!
