In 'Darlings', Vijay Varma will portray the role of Alia's husband and the storyline of the film revolves around a South Bombay mother-daughter duo whose life turns upside down when the person they had kidnapped earlier goes missing. According to the latest reports, Shefali Shah has been locked to play the role of Alia's mother in the film.
As per the sources, "Shefali Shah loved the script and instantly gave her a nod. She is very excited to work with her favourite Alia Bhatt for the first time and play her onscreen mother who, along with her daughter, kidnaps later's abusive husband in the film. It's a very fascinating world to explore and Shah is thrilled to be a part of it."
Now, reports also disclosed that the Malayalam actor Roshan Mathew who made his Hindi film debut this year with Anurag Kashyap's Netflix film, Choked has also been roped by the filmmakers and said to be playing a small but crucial part in the film. The film will be the directorial debut of screenplay writer Jasmeet K Reen who has earlier written the screenplay for 'Force 2' and 'Pati, Pata Aur Woh'. The film will go on floors in February 2021 in Mumbai. The film will be made under the production banner of Red Chillies Entertainment.
