Jaan's remark hurt the sentiments of the people across the country which led to the official team of colors apologizing to the public. The popular GEC's Twitter account posted a note which read, `We at COLORS apologize for the remarks in relation to the Marathi language made on the Bigg Boss episode aired on Tuesday, 27th October. We had no intentions of hurting sentiments of the people of Maharashtra.`
This whole controversy comes after the Tuesday episode of BB 14. Jaan Kumar Sanu along with Nikki Tamboli, Rahul Vaidya, and Pavitra Punia are currently in the Red Zone after being nominated. Jaan was upset with Rahul for nominating him, giving the reason that he was on the show only because he is Kumar Sanu's son. He became more hurt after seeing that his close friend Nikki, rather than consoling him, was having a fun session with Rahul. As Nikki and Rahul continued chatting in Marathi, Jaan gets irritated, feeling left out, said, `Marathi mein baat mat kar, mujhe cheed machti hai.`
On Wednesday's episode, Jaan Kumar Sanu was called by Bigg Boss to the confession room. He was told that the show is watched by people from across India and hence housemates are asked not to talk about religion or community. Pulling up Jaan over his comment, Bigg Boss informed him that his words had hurt the sentiments of the Marathi people.
Jaan then apologizes to the Maratha people and said it was an unintentional mistake. He also said that he respects Maharashtra and will never repeat the mistake.
