SS Rajamouli's period action drama RRR (Roudram Ranam Rudhiram) is a fictional story about India's freedom fighters, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem who fought against the British Raj and Nizam of Hyderabad respectively. Recently, the makers released a teaser revealing N. T. Rama Rao Jr.'s look as Komaram Bheem. The teaser was marvelous as expected from Rajamoul's films but at the end of the teaser, Komaram Bheem was seen applying Surma, wearing an amulet, and donning a skull cap, which exactly didn't go well with right-wing groups of Indian politicians.

Now, it became a serious issue for South Indian politics as Telangana BJP State President and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar has warned the director for showcasing Bheem to a specific community and also accused the director of distorting historical facts and also said he would set the theatres on fire for showing RRR. Sanjay Kumar said in a public meeting, "For sensation if Rajamouli puts a cap on the head of Komaram Bheem, will we keep quiet? Never."

He further added, `If you are going to make a film by undermining Komaram Bheem, by undermining the rights of Adivasis and by undermining the sentiments of Adivasis, we will hit you with sticks. If you release the film in theatres, we will set fire to every theatre showing your movie."

Well, when Rajamouli announced his much-awaited project, the director was cleared with his vision and also stated that the film is not a biopic but a fictional work based on the life of two iconic tribal leaders, Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitarama Raju. He said in the statement, `My film will not dwell on the stories of their rebellion that we already know. But, it will focus on what would have happened if they had met during their self-imposed exile and became friends."

Born on 22 October 1901, in Sankepalli of Adilabad district, Telangana, Komaram Bheem was an Indian tribal leader belonging to the Gond community. Komaram Bheem is said to have fought against the feudal landlords during Nizam's rule. He defied any form of authority coming from the Nizam and fought against the Nizam's military might while seeking refuge in the forest and fighting for the land rights of his community. The popular slogan for adivasi movements 'Jal Jangal Jameen' was given by Bheem.

RRR (Roudram Ranam Rudhiram), featuring Jr NTR and Ram Charan in the lead roles. The action drama also features Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt in the pivotal roles. Apart from them, Rajamouli has also roped international names like Olivia Morris, Samuthirakani, Alison Doody, and Ray Stevenson. It has been stated that the film is scheduled for release in 2021 along with the dubbed versions in Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, and Tamil languages.
