Meanwhile, Gowtam Tinnanuri's 'Jersey' is a sports drama film and a remake of a 2019 Telugu-language film under the same title. It features Shahid Kapoor in the lead role as a cricketer who stopped his cricketing career ten years ago, now aiming to play for the Indian team. Mrunal Thakur has grabbed the female lead in the film.
Backed by Allu Aravind, Aman Gill, and Dil Rajuwas, the film was scheduled to be theatrically released on 28 August 2020 but got delayed due to COVID-19.
