Vijay Krishna Acharya, known for directing films like Dhoom film series and Thugs of Hindostan, is all set to helm the director seat for YRF next untitled social comedy venture. The film is going to be a part of YRF project 50 which includes big films like, Tiger 3, Pathan, Ajay Devgn - Ahan Panday's next. Vicky Kaushal and Manushi Chhillar are collaborating for the first time together for Acharya's film. The film theme is based on religious tolerance and how every religion talks about humanity. It is also revealed that the genre of its premise is inspired by Yash Chopra's second directorial, the 1961 classic, Dharamputra.

But you do know that Vicky Kaushal wasn't the first choice for the film but Varun Dhawan. Well, yes it is true as according to the inside sources, the director wants Varun Dhawan to be a part of YRF's project 50 but the actor denied to be featured in the film due to its theme. Although, makers cleared that the film is a positive take on the religion and will spread some harmony in the society, but in a completely light hearted manner.

According to the inside sources, `Yash Raj Films is celebrating its 50th years, and no doubt, they wanted even Varun Dhawan to be a part of his slate, considering that they have worked on Sui Dhaga and are committed to do another film together soon. Varun had two to three narrations of the Vijay Krishna Acharya directorial and then conveyed his decision to Victor and Adi."

The source further revealed, why Varun rejected the project, "Varun is very clear on being a part of cinema that doesn't elicit any sort of controversy and given the fact that Victor's next touches upon religion, he didn't want to end up in a scenario that creates any tension with the society. While he is well aware of the intent of producers, he just didn't want to risk and hence, he conveyed his decision to not be a part of the film and rather collaborate on something else."

All in all, now Vicky Kaushal is a part of the film and will be seen romancing Miss India, Manushi Chhillar. Well, Manushi is debuting with Chandraprakash Dwivedi's period war drama, 'Prithviraj' opposite Akshay Kumar. Manushi Chhillar will play the role of Prithviraj's wife Samyukta. On the other side, Vicky Kaushal will next be seen in Shoojit Sircar's Sardar Udham Singh, where he plays the titular revolutionary and freedom fighter.
