Madhur Bhandarkar is one of those few directors who have endeavoured to deal with sensitive subjects. Right from ‘Chandni Bar' to ‘Satta' to ‘Page 3' and ‘Traffic Signal',
Madhur has been exceptional and outstanding. All of them have dealt with issues that have prevailed in the society for long, but have always been ignored not only by the
commoners, but also by other directors too.
Madhur started his career assisting Ram Gopal Verma and made his directorial debut in 1999 with ‘Trishakti', which unfortunately did not work well. But then came ‘Chandni
Bar' starring Tabu and Atul Kulkarni. The film was not only a hit, but also won him a national award.
There was no stopping Madhur after this. ‘Satta' (Raveena Tandon), ‘Aan', ‘Page 3', ‘Corporate' and then ‘Traffic Signal' one after other showcasing Madhur's talent. Madhur
won the second national award for ‘Page 3'. All the movies had had Madhur's trademark and exposed the faults in the systems.
Madhur is currently working on his film ‘Fashion' and at the same time, toying with the idea of making a film on film awards! This film will deal with what happens behind
every award ceremony and how awards are manipulative.
So, yet another bold film from Madhur is in the offing, but this time will he deal with the national awards too?
