After stepping into the digital world with Chris Hemsworth's Netflix crime-thriller Extraction, Randeep Hooda is gearing himself up to take the OTT route once again and this time a full-fledged one. As per the report of a leading portal, Randeep Hooda has locked his first web-series with Jio Studios. Randeep, who lately underwent leg surgery after an injury on the sets of Salman Khan's Radhe is all set to rock his Hindi web-series 'Inspector Avinash'.
Reportedly, the series will be helmed by Sunny Deol's Bhaiyyaji Superhit fame Neeraj Pathak and will be a thrilling cop drama. It is being said that Hooda will be essaying the role of an Uttar Pradesh police officer dealing with crimes in the state. "Randeep has been committed to this project since last year. The project was earlier supposed to roll early this year but was delayed due to Randeep's busy schedule. The team then had planned to start filming in April but the sudden COVID-19 lockdown hampered it all again. Neeraj Pathak, Randeep, and the team recently had a virtual discussion and they're now planning to start the show from January 2021 onwards,", revealed a media source.
Reportedly, the web series was signed a year back. However, due to the existing commitments of Randeep, no other OTT announcements could be done with any other formats at that time.
Talking about Randeep's current filming schedule, the actor is currently shooting for his social-comedy, Unfair N Lovely with Ileana D'Cruz in Haryana. The Balwinder Singh Januja directorial tells the story of a dusky girl who constantly has to fend against prejudices and biases that Indian society harbours against dark skin. Hooda has also bagged Sai Kabir's new-aged romance story Mard.
