Sung by Dhanush, 'Why This Kolaveri Di' was one of the few songs which instantly became popular on social networking sites for its quirky Tanglish lyrics. November 16 marks the 9th anniversary of Dhanush's famous song, but while celebrating the nine years of the song, the actor-singer's joy is doubled with his song Rowdy baby which managed to fetch international recognition by hitting 1 billion views on Youtube. The Rowdy Baby song was applauded for its catchy tune by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Well, the song was choreographed by Prabhu Deva and sung by Dhanush and Dhee. With this, the song has become the first South Indian song to hit the mark of 1 billion, apart from this, Punjabi song Laung Laachi was the first Indian song to reach the mark.

South star Dhanush took to twitter and reacted on the news, tweeted, "What a sweet coincidence this is. Rowdy baby hits 1 billion views on same day of the 9th anniversary of Kolaveri di. We are honoured that this is the first South Indian song to reach 1 billion views. Our whole team thanks you from the heart." Similarly, Sai Pallavi took to her Twitter page to thank everyone who watched the song. She wrote, "Thank you all for owning Rowdy baby. 1 Billion love and counting (sic)." Also considered as the disco song, 'Rowdy Baby' by Dhanush and Dhee, was released on October 25, 2018. The video song which was released on YouTube in January 2019, received positive reviews for the choreography as well as its picturisation. As of February 2020, the song has gained over 856 million views. More about the film, Maari 2 is a 2018 Tamil action comedy film directed by Balaji Mohan. It is a sequel to his 2015 film Maari. Dhanush, besides producing the film under his company Wunderbar Films, also stars as the title character, reprising his role from the first film.
