The statement quoting Punjab Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) S Karuna Raju said, his office had sent a proposal to the ECI on the name of Sonu Sood and they have also approved the appointment on the same. Well, Sonu belongs to the Moga district of Punjab and is also a famous name among the youth and poor people. With being the youth icon, the actor will awara the youth regarding their voting rights.
Recently, the actor announced his autobiography, 'I Am No Messiah', and said, "People have been very kind and have lovingly named me messiah. But I really do believe that I am no messiah. I simply do what my heart tells me to. It is our responsibility as human beings to be compassionate and help each other."
Sonu Sood has also received the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) with SDG Special Humanitarian Action Award for helping stranded migrants during the coronavirus pandemic by arranging food, buses, train tickets, and chartered flights for them.
