His reputation as the colorist of a number of songs has made him favorite of every artist who makes music videos. So far, he has worked for over 100 music videos and almost every artist, including Rohanpreet Singh, Mankirat Aulakh, Nimrat Khaira, Neha Kakkar, Tony Kakkar, Inder Chahal, Akhil, Sharry Maan, Sippy Gill, Parmish Verma, R Nait, Gippy Grewal etc, in the Punjabi industry.
While sharing why coloring is important in videos, Onkar Singh said, `The videos taken from the film cameras are rough blackish and barely have proper colors. To give a better experience to the audience, we add colors to the videos. It is done to meet the requirement of the scene and situation.`
`The purpose of coloring the video is not just to make the scenes look better but to also create a situation as per the video's demand. The raw video after shoot is totally different from the edited one. I bet one cannot imagine that the coloring is utmost important for every video,` Onkar said.
Onkar Singh, who hails from Amritsar, shifted to Jalandhar after completing his Class 12 with the aim to become a director. Meanwhile, he started learning editing as it is one of the tasks that director handles. Soon after he learnt editing and coloring, he started getting work from various artists. Singh who already had developed the interest in coloring decided to become a full-fledged colorist. He is the only colorist in Punjabi industry till date who is successfully working for music videos.
