Democracy is a myth and politics is an ugly truth, this is what Yudhveer, the protagonist of Dark 7 White thinks about the democratic system. AltBalaji's political murder thriller series is a straight adaptation of Shweta Brijpuria's novel Dark White which summarizes the traits of friendship, secrets, family, power, money, fame, politics and murder. Well, Dark 7 White is a story about seven Scorpios who want to take down the power, and the one behind the game of betrayal is still unknown. Based on youth politics, the series is a mixed bag of power, lust and tones of secrets.

Dark 7 White season 1 episode begins with the introduction of shady Yudhveer Singh (Sumeet Vyas) and his dream of becoming the youngest Chief Minister of the country. His vision is clear about what exactly he wants to pursue in his life and his thoughts about politics are also thought-provoking. Yudhveer who is also known as Yudi calls his friends Neelu, Kush, Yogesh, Krish, Shashank, Dhawal for the photograph and calls themself the losers from KCC college. Yudi who has now become CM and decides to drive through an open jeep for his swearing oath ceremony although Neelu (Monika Choudhary) asks him not to take the risk but Yudi resists her and welcomes his lover Daisy (Nidhi Singh) on the roadshow. Dhaval who is driving his jeep warns him not to head towards a specific path but Yudi ignores his warning and faces a young student group who is raising a voice against him. To calm the group down he promised to help them out while requesting them not to consider him as Anil Kapoor of Nayak film. He clears them that he can't change the world in one go. Yudi makes them believe that he will work from the grassroots and will surely resolve their issues. But just after he leaves the place, Yudi gets assassinated and his dream of becoming CM remains a dream.

With his assassination, Yudi takes the narration seat and takes us back to 2009 year where everything started. As in that year, Yudi and his rest of friends whose journey of friendship started from college till the end when they finally get over with the worst of their lives. Yudi narrates a story of how one night changes his vision of becoming the CM when DCP Abhimanyu (Jatin Sarna) catches him and his friends consuming coke and slaps Yudi for his act. Meanwhile, the other youth leader of the college handles Abhimanyu and resolves the issue. From there Yudi decides that he and his friends need to contest the college elections. He names Taishi for the President post and Greshma for general secretary. As Yudi wants power in his pocket and that can be only possible if he will enter into politics.

On the other side, DCP Abhimanyu suspects Neelu, Greshma, Shashank, Kush, Yogesh, Shemsheer and Dhaval in the murder of Yudi. More about Neelu, Abhimanyu knew the fact that Neelu had an affair with Yudi. With each sting of his doubts on Yudi's every friend, Abhimanyu starts his investigation. This political murder thriller takes a twist when Abhimanyu gets to know about these 7 friends' past where love, betrayal, the lust for power act as a deep ocean between their friendship. Is there is something in their past that leads to Yudi's assassination? Is Yudi's grandfather Shashank has killed him or Neelu who loved him deeply or Dhaval who acts as the right hand of Yudi, who killed Yudi? Well, you'll get the answer once you'll watch this mystery murder drama with several political turns and twists.

Sattwik Mohanty's direction has sharply helmed the director's seat and takes us to the journey of these 7 friends. Sattwik simultaneously covers the past and present scenario. Whether it is directing the campus scenes or political rallies, he has done tremendous work. The story has been adapted by Mohinder Pratap Singh and Mayuri Roychoudhury and the two have also worked on the series screenplay which is quite intriguing. Initially, in the first three episodes, the story takes a string of turns and twists and narrates the story in an exemplary manner that how Yudi entered into the political scene. Just like the novel, the writers have also focused on each character and their motive behind Yudi's death.

Talking about the performance part, then Sumeet Vyas and Jatin Sarna have worked tremendously. Their presence on the screen is visible through their top-notch dialogue delivery. We never saw Sumeet playing a shady role that makes him the protagonist and the antagonist of the Dark 7 White. Acting opposite to his Sacred Games' Bunty's character, Jatin has helmed the cop attire and his tone and presence help the series in several ways. On the other side, Nidhi Singh, Abigail Pande, Teena Singh, Rachit Bahal, Monica Chaudhary, Sanjay Swaraj, and Shekhar Choudhary have also contributed their best performance in the series and did justice with their roles.

Dialogues by Pranjal Saxena and Shashank Kunwar are terrific and suit best on the current generation's lingo style. Especially, Sumeet Vyas and Jatin Sarna's dialogues are incredible. The title track by Arpit Mehta and Udit Prajapati is a perfect soothing melody to ears and you can hear it on the loop.

All-embracing, the series will take you to your college days where student politics and college elections are a part of life. Well, the series narrates the sudden death of Yudi (the mastermind of the gang) who brings his friends together and who believes the repressed inner voice needs to speak out loud and clear. It is rightly said when there is a white side to a story there has to be the darkness surrounding it as well and the same has been happened in this mystery murder drama series. Where everyone wants to checkmate the opponent and want to win the game of Dark 7 White. So Dark 7 White is a perfect binge-watch on this week and if you are a fan of Sumeet Vyas then its a must watch series.
