And now, she got a legal notice from Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee on Thursday over her tweet supposedly targeting protestors against the farm laws. The notice was sent by advocate Harpreet Singh Hora on behalf of the board member Jasmain Singh Noni.
In the notice it is mentioned that when Ranaut's premises (in Mumbai) were destroyed, she took to social media "to meet solidarity" from her supporters, affirming that the operation was an invasion of her fundamental rights. Exactly, like that, it's a right for farmers to protest calmly under the Constitution of India and she cannot claim a right to humiliate and abuse the farmers.
As per the warning, Kangana had shared a tweet claiming that the 'Shaheen Bagh dadi', who made international headlines during the anti-CAA protests earlier this year in the Delhi neighborhood of Shaheen Bagh, also joined the farmers' agitation over the new farm laws. The notice stated that she said in her tweet that the "same Shaheen Bagh Dadi" was available in 100 rupees.
But as per the notice, these two ladies were not the same. Plus, she has no right to defame even any old woman for her political mileage. Moreover, this is a clear example of a hate tweet and needs to be tackled at the earliest.
Thousands of farmers from various states have gathered at Delhi's border to demand an abolition of the Centre's three new farm rules. Protest is going on because farmers are worried that the new laws will drop the protection cushion of a Minimum Support Price (MSP).
The government has been in discussions with farmer leaders to fix the matter.
