Javed Akhtar had filed a criminal defamation case against Kangana Ranaut at Andheri Magistrate Court and for the verification, poet-writer-lyricist has appeared in front of the magistrate on Thursday. As earlier, Kangana Ranaut through his tweets alleged that Javed called her to his residence & threatened her on speaking out about her relationship with Hrithik Roshan. Her sister Rangoli also tweeted on the matter where she claimed that Bollywood lyricist-writer Javed Akhtar had once called the actress home and threatened her before asking her to apologize to Hrithik Roshan. Serious allegations by the Ranaut sisters affected Javed's reputation and as a result, he decided to take legal action against the actress.

Kangana Ranaut also took to her Twitter and responded to the written defamation in the court by Javed Akhtar. She tweeted, "Single woman/lone warrior fighting against Bullywood suicide gang, drug mafia, fascist government, tukde gang all at once, I may have chosen a difficult life but it's an honour to awaken my nation to all the threats we face against our unity and integrity." Well, even at the time of the COVID-19 pandemic, poet-writer-lyricist went to court for the written defamation and the verification. Now the first hearing will be held on December 19, 2020. The case has been registered under section 499 and 500 of IPC in the Andheri Magistrate Court. Whereas one side, Kangana is calling herself a lone warrior fighting against the Bollywood industry on the other side, several social groups are filling legal cases against the actress' statements on several issues.
