The team of Shahid Kapoor starrer Jersey was in Chandigarh to shoot a major portion of the sports-drama film. But after facing a serious roadblock in the city due to ongoing farmer's protest, the makers had to delay the shoot. As per media reports, Shahid and his team headed back to Dehradun recently as they knew the current scenario can become a hurdle in wrapping the Chandigarh shoot.
Reportedly, Shahid, Mrunal Thakur and the team will now film some portions of Jersey in Dehradun over the next few days and will return to Chandigarh to complete the shoot. The team has three days' work left in the Tricity.
Jersey stars Shahid Kapoor in the lead role and Mrunal Thakur will be seen playing Shahid's love interest. The sports drama film is directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri and is a remake of his 2019 Telugu film under the same title. It stars Shahid as a thirty-six-year-old cricketer who stopped his cricketing career ten years ago, now aiming to play for the Indian team.
The film was scheduled to be theatrically released on 28 August 2020 but got postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now the film will be releasing next year.
