The Forbes Asia's 100 Digital Stars list was launched recently and it featured stars all over the Asia region who managed to influence a wide range of society with their social media presence, awareness and the noble initiatives they have taken for relieving the COVID-19 crises. Many Bollywood stars made their place in this Asia-Pacific's Most Influential Celebrities On Social Media.
Bollywood celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt feature in the list for their digital influence. Other stars like Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma, Jacqueline Fernandez, Shahid Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, besides singers Shreya Ghoshal and Neha Kakkar were also mentioned in the list.
Akshay Kumar was stated as Bollywood's highest-paid actor and India's most-followed star with over 131 million followers. Kumar`s philosophic works were also highlighted as he donated $4 million to Covid-19 relief in India. Amitabh has been credited for raising over $7 million for coronavirus relief this year.
Other prominent faces in the top of the list included BTS, a popular seven-band South Korean band, one of the world's most successful musical groups ever and their latest song `Dynamite` reportedly made YouTube history as the first video to get over 100 million views within 24 hours of being posted. Other notable stars were Chinese actress and singer Yang Mi, king of Mandopop, Jay Chou, Japanese comedian Naomi Watanabe, and Angel Locsin.
Hollywood stars Hugh Jackman and Chris Hemsworth; action star Donnie Yen; K-Pop girl band Blackpink and actor Lee Min-ho from South Korea; China's Kris Wu and Dilraba Dilmurat also feature in the list.
