As per the reports, the makers of the film 'Chehre' negotiated with the OTT platform because the film has legendary Amitabh Bachchan in the film. However, the main reason for the makers' eagerness to sell this film to the streaming giant is Rhea Chakraborty, who plays the lead actress in the film. The actress was in the limelight for the past few months because of her involvement in Sushant Singh Rajput's suicide case. So makers want to avoid any controversy related to the case with the film.
'Chehre' shooting was wrapped up before the lockdown and its post production work was going on and the film was also scheduled to release on 24 April. However, the film's release was postponed following the Coronavirus pandemic, as well as the month of June when actor Sushant Singh Rajput allegedly committed suicide, The film's lead actress Rhea was then linked to the murder. Rhea was also trolled on social media and after that, the police arrested her in the drug probe. It is speculated that the OTT giant wants to gain popularity through Rhea who is already in the news and many people want to watch the actress on screen.
