A true story of the child actor Ashish Channa, who played a pivotal role in Ram Gopal Varma's Vastu Shashtra. Ashish's mother would often pass her off as a boy to get her to work in a bunch of television commercials.
The fraud was caught when Karan Johar also roped her for Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, and she landed in New York. This is when her father filed a case against the mother for making her behave like a boy.
Newcomer Maraddona has been cast in the role of the androgynous boy by Director Sudipto Chattopadhyay. Bipasha plays a Bollywood actress adored by the muddled protagonist.
Bipasha is plays herself in the film. Director Sudipto wants to call Bipasha's character, Bipasha however, Bipasha isn't comfortable with the idea of her name being used in the film.
"I'd rather stick to the character's name Nandini. Pankh special because it's my first so-called art film and also because as soon as I heard the subject I was bowled over.
