How will you feel if your life partner abuse you, threaten you, and make you mentally & physically tortured? Of course, you want to get rid of all these sufferings, but what if you don't have an option? You might want to kill yourself or your partner. And exactly what these three ladies Jayati (Swastika), Veera(Mona), and Kavita(Shamita) who live in real misery, blast the boat of their husbands to kill them. This is a story of romance, betrayal, and murder, though with a twist. Black Widows certainly stands as a series in this age of criminal thrillers with its grim mood along with a lot of suspense!

Lalit (Mohan Kapur), Jayati's husband, is sexually abusive to her, while Nilesh (Vipul Roy), Kavita's husband, pressures her to sleep with his high-profile corporate customers to support him in business. Each day, Veera's husband (Sharad Kelkar), Jatin, tries to take her beloved daughter Siya far from her. These three ladies, tired of being harassed verbally, mentally, and physically, end up taking matters into their own hands. They plan a bomb explosion on a boat with their three husbands, but to stage it as an accident.

In the first part of Birsa Dasgupta's 12-episode series, you'll see the scenes of a breathtaking holiday landscape and the celebration of three men on the 50th birthday of Lalit, and their wives arrange the party for them on a small boat that goes haywire in just a few minutes. Shortly afterward, when the inspector Rinku asks them the questions about this mishap, then in Flashback, you'll get a quick glimpse at the married lives of the trio. It reveals how each of the couples in their marriage is suffering and the blast is a joy for the three wives of the end of the torment. Now the Black Widows have to cry out a few phony tears to play the role of mourning ex-wives for some time. But in fact, they're brit to be pushed aside by the happy, independent, and abuse-free lives they've often dreamed of.

They could even have gotten what they needed if it wasn't for Inspector Rinku's grumpy ways and his persistence to figure out the facts. And the case goes under police officer Pankaj (Parambrata Chatterjee) who is also as witty as Rinku but where he needs to show his seriousness, there also he has done a commendable job. As if that wasn't enough, a big twist is tossed into the works that show these 3 ladies that how their "simple thought wasn't that easy after all!

Black Widows is an exciting, fun performance that has the right splash of dark humor added into it to make you chuckle loudly as you grab your seats. The tempo of the storyline is lightning quick, and you never know what surprising branching paths the journey will take next. The show often deals with who your deepest condolences should be inside this universe of dark people, where no one is all wrong or right. All the episodes are so damn interesting that at the end, each part leaves something suspicious to force you to watch next. It's a series with perfect timing, quirky dialogues to laugh you, excellent twists with plotting, and absolute suspense. What happens to the ladies after the blast? Is everyone die in that explosion? or is there someone else behind the whole scenario? And to crack all the questions that arise in your mind, you'll need to watch this quirky crime thriller web-series.

With the great casting and the lead actor's outstanding performance, it will surely win the hearts of the audience. Swastika Mukherjee dominates the stage as an influential but emotionally oppressed Jayati. Her stunning green eyes represent her suffering, and she has the most conspicuous lines in the film. Shamita Shetty, who marks her acting return to the shoes of a fragile Kavita in this series. She plays a faulty character that is reckless and can be considered a game-changer.

Ultimately, brilliant actor Mona Singh is also in the series who takes on Veera's part. And as a mother who can do anything for her child. The character of Veera was just as unique as possible. Parambrata steals the show by playing the role of Inspector Rinku and highlights in every scene that she is in. Another character you'd love to watch is Sharad Kelkar, the surprise bad husband who is really that bad or no? you have to watch yourself by booking your weekend for it.

Apart from them, with the following episodes, you'll come to get to know about other characters too like Aamir Ali, Raima Sen and Nikhil Bhambhari, who have also justified their roles with an influential work.

The show boasts amazing cinematography and has been filmed in picturesque areas of Kolkata. The project is assisted by the incredible Birsa Dasgupta, who gives utter justice to the intricate plot. The music played in the background is atmospheric enough to make the story gloomy and quite comedic with a perfect blend and with amusing and relevant dialogues. They articulate this series in a spectacular dark comedy suspense style.

For those who don't know, Black Widows is a reboot of a 2014 Finnish TV series, with a more bold experiment in the genre of dark comedy, a concept that is not very common in India. It's the 8th remake of this series after adaptations in Ukraine, Estonia, Lithuania, the Middle East, Mexico, Scandinavia, and the Czech Republic.

Its 12 episodes are around 35 to 38 minutes in length that can once make you think to put your precious time to watch or not, but if you're a fan of crime-thriller and that too with a perfect storyline and quirky & amusing dialogues.
