For the first time in its history, well-known glamour magazine Vanity Fair has published a special supplement on Bollywood in its May 2002 issue. And gracing the cover of this section is the gorgeous Aishwarya Rai, the first Indian actress to get this honor.
While Hollywood actress Kirsten Dunst features on the cover of the main magazine, the former Miss World-turned-actress Ash has made it to the Bollywood special cover. The 48-page section boasts some of the biggest names from the Indian film Industry in it.The special section also features a 10-page photo feature on Indian actors including super star Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Rekha and Arjun Rampal amongst others. It also includes articles on Mumbai's film industry and has a fashion feature titled ‘Modern Exotica' with famous model Yasmin Le Bon wearing couture by Indian designers, Rohit Bal, Rina Dhaka and Abraham and Thakore.
The special issue has write ups by many Asian writers including Meera Syal, Nitin Sawhney and Udita Jhunjhunwala about the Indian film scenario for the supplement.
