There were reports claiming that Aamir Khan recently backed out from the film due to his other work commitments and now we have received another update about the film. Reportedly, Hrithik Roshan has been approached to replace Aamir and to play the lead role of Vedha in the remake. And it's also being said that the actor has given the green signal for his role.
Hrithik will be seen playing the gangster which was played by Vijay Sethupathi in the original one while Saif Ali Khan will essay the role of a cop that was played by Madhavan. The crime-thriller would be Hrithik and Saif Ali Khan's second film together after 2002 romantic drama film 'Na Tum Jaano Na Hum'.
Not only Aamir and Hrithik but the role was also offered to Shah Rukh Khan who declined the offer due to his personal demand on film's director. Speaking of the original film, Vikram Vedha, was a 2017 Tamil action-thriller film and was inspired from folk tale of Raja Vikramaditya and the spirit Betaal. It was a blockbuster that featured South superstar Vijay Sethupathi and Madhavan in the lead role.
Talking about Saif Ali Khan's other projects, the actor is busy shooting for his horror-comedy Bhoot Police. Directed by Pawan Kripalani, the film also stars Arjun Kapoor, Yami Gautam, Jacqueline Fernandez and others.
