Following the huge success of Krrish and Don last year, Priyanka Chopra became choosy about signing new films. She also hiked up her paycheck from Rs 75 Lakhs to Rs 1.5 crores and announced she will only do challenging roles.
In fact, she had no films signed up after Love Story 2050 and Drona which had every one wondering as to what was going on.
"It's true that I'm being very careful post Krrish and Don. I want to do films that would challenge me as an actress," Priyanka said.
"I've signed just one film Drona. And I'm taking a long break after that. I'm not getting the kind of film that grabs my attention immediately. I want to do only roles of some caliber. I don't want to rush into anything. It could be anything."
It has now become clear just what it was that Priyanka did not want to rush into. She has signed a deal with UTV Motion Pictures to do three films for them over a period of four years. Importantly enough for Priyanka, the deal allows her to participate in the entire creative process of the film starting with short listing of scripts and genres.
Priyanka has become the first female actor in Bollywood to sign such a deal.
"I am very excited about my association with UTV. This association presents an amazing opportunity for me to work in a challenging, creative environment with some of the best minds in the industry. I am looking forward to creating celluloid magic together," said Priyanka in a press meet.
