Varun Dhawan has always considered acting as an act of exploring the human soul. One of the biggest examples of Varun's best performance was Sriram Raghavan's revenge drama Badlapur. For that role, the actor went through a deep transformation and was involved so much in the character that he was a little blindsided by the sudden turn of events. Well, his fans love him in comic roles but after Amazon prime's comedy film Coolie No. 1, Varun Dhawan wants to play a serious role.

As per the reports, Varun Dhawan signs Sriram Raghavan's 'Ekkis' based on the life of second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal. The biopic film will go on floors in September 2021 and the actor will start preparing for the film from May 2021. 'Ekkis' is going to be Varun's second venture with Sriram after Badlapur (2015).

More about Arun Khetarpal, he was the second Lieutenant officer of the Indian Army and a posthumous recipient of the Param Vir Chakra, India's highest military decoration for valour in the face of the enemy. He was martyred in action in the Battle of Basantar in the Battlefield of Shakargarh during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971 where his actions earned him his honor.

On the work front, Varun Dhawan finished the Chandigarh schedule of Raj Mehta's comedy-drama film, 'Jug Jugg Jeeyo' alongside Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor. Apart from this, Varun will do a groovy song in Salman Khan and Aayush Sharma starrer 'Antim'.
