The trend of OTT has been touching heights since the lockdown as a noticeable increase in online media consumption has been witnessed. Filmmakers and several actors are taking this path to build a wider audience for their projects. Going with the trend, Mithun Chakraborty and Shruti Haasan will now be foraying into the digital space, as per the latest media reports.

It has been recently learned that Mithun and Shruti Haasan have collaborated with Amazon Prime Video for a web show that will be backed by Hichki director Sidharth P Malhotra. The web series is said to be an adaptation of Ravi Subramanian's 2015 novel, The Bestseller She Wrote. Director Mukul Abhyankar will reportedly be helming this project which is said to be a flammable cocktail of love, betrayal, and redemption. The 398-page book delves into the glitzy world of bestsellers and uncovers a risky dalliance between a superstar novelist and his alluring protege.

Speaking of the shooting of the show, it starts today in Mussoorie, Uttrakhand with the aim of start to finish schedule and is planned to be wrapped in two months. The series also stars Gauahar Khan, Arjan Bajwa, and Annu Kapoor in key roles. Mithun will be back on the screen after his last film 12'O Clock (2018), a Ram Gopal Verma film. Whereas Shruti Hasaan will be returning to film sets after a long gap of four years.

This is the first time when Shruti and Mithun will be seen sharing the screen space together.
