What will you expect from the lives of a middle-class family and that too from a small town in India? Of course, it's packed with shades of grey, sorrow, struggle, and confusion of what's right & what's wrong. This Palash Vaswani's series 'Gullak: Season 2' gives you some glimpses of day-to-day life and shows you the truth behind the situations that normally happens in our house. This five episodes series is full of anecdotes, not a story.

Gullak is a compilation of the Mishra family's charming and relatable tales. Santosh (Jameel Khan) and Shanti Mishra (Geetanjali Kulkarni), the elder son, Annu (Vaibhav Raj Gupta), and the younger son, Aman (Harsh Mayar) embrace the many flavors of small-town life with a smattering of humor, wit, and affection, of course. Each family experiences tales that are not just heartwarming but also resonate with you, exactly like any currency that exists in that piggybank has a story behind it.

In the series, you'll see how the family tries to upgrade their standard of living that sometimes leads to fishy situations, and the elder son, Annu is the one to face this most of the time. But it will show you how moral values are important too. Every episode of this epic series is full of humor, the reality of life with every new situation, either it's about a high electricity bill or the board exam of the younger son, Aman, on the day of the final world cup match, that too of India vs Pakistan.

You'll not only feel like watching a series on your screen, but you'll surely live the moments and can relate them with your life too. So, the storyline is purely perfect and succeeds in delivering a big smile and can make you all emotional on another. With an innovative plot, the five-episode series wins over the audience.

Once in a life, you might have watched some tension in your family, due to the marriage function of your relatives. And the discussion of how much 'Shagun' your family has to be given, after analyzing the 'Register'. What register are we talking about? It's a record that every middle-class family has, which contains the names of the guests who joined their family's wedding, along with what they gave as a neg (blessing) to the newlyweds.

The cast of this season remains the same as the 4 members of the Mishra family. But one recurring character who entertains us with her crazy role is Sunita Rajwar as Bittu Ki Mummy.

If talking about other characters, then Geetanjali Kulkarni wins the show with her cynical remarks on her sons as she used to yell at them and make them speechless many times. Jameel Khan plays the role of a typical middle-class man serving in the government office and always feels a shortage of money, either it's due to a high electricity bill or while calculating the expense (Shagun) for the wedding of his brother-in-law's daughter. All the characters have great chemistry on the screen.

Other than this, dialogue delivery is fabulous, and at the end of every episode, you'll see how heart-touching dialogues are there. Even the background voice of 'Gullak' can touch your heart deeply, like when Shanti Mishra buys a mixer for herself and her comfort, it gives a message that 'Intezaar Ki Umar K Baad, Insaan Khud Ko Pyaar Karne Lagata Hai.' You'll get to listen to many such encouraging lines at the end of every episode.

Like the first season, this one is also a must-watch light-heartening series that can surely make you feel relatable to your life. All in all, just book your weekend for this lively, playful, and emotional drama series of TVF, streaming on SonyLIV.
