Bryan Adams or Kailash Kher, Pamela Anderson or Mallika Sherawat, Indians can now choose the 'Cutest Vegetarian Alive' in a poll by animal rights organisation, People
for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
The Indian arm of the world's largest animal rights organisation has for the first time launched the online poll, similar to the one launched by its US affiliate PETA2 last year
in which rocker Benji Madden and Hollywood actress Natalie Portman were crowned the king and queen of vegetarians.
PETA India's Youth Division has selected 33 male and 23 female celebrities from East to West for whom votes can be cast in the website www.petaDishoom.com.
Some of the heavyweights in the male category are rock legend Bryan Adams, award-winning actor Joaquin Phoenix, widely popular singer Prince and India's bowling great
Anil Kumble.
Among the women, Chelsea Clinton, actors Pamela Anderson, Kim Basinger and Alicia Silverstone and singers Natalie Imbruglia, Pink, Shania Twain and Joss Stone fight it
out from the West. Bollywood screen sirens Kareena Kapoor, Mallika Sherawat and Mahima Chaudhary add glamour from the East.
Some of other Indian stars in the shortlist are actors Shahid Kapoor and R. Madhavan, singers Kailash Kher and Shibani Kashyap and popular television anchor Mandira
Bedi.
