Aishwarya Rai is at the center of a family controversy and it doesn't even involve her husband, Abishek Bachchan or his parents.

Rather, the controversy stems from a pair of saris that were created for and worn by Aishwarya Rai during her wedding ceremony in April. The two saris were created by famed designer Chaturbhuja Meher and attracted widespread attention after Aishwarya modeled them.

Now it seems Chaturbhuja's design may have been inspired by a cousin. Kailash Meher has alleged that the designs on the two saris were taken from his painting "The Tree of Life" and Chaturbhuja is now being investigated for fraud.

In response to the allegations the designer said "All the charges made against me are false. I am contemplating a defamation suit."
