But contrary to expectations Abhiash are not cast in a film as a couple. Varma also provided more details on Aishwarya's role:
"She will shock audiences as Rukhsar. To say she'll be portrayed like never before would be an understatement. Nobody would expect a looker like her to portray such a dark character...
Her beauty won't be enhanced by filters and shaded lighting. She'll be totally without makeup. And that's when I think she looks her best," he said.
"They aren't a couple in Sarkar 2. Abhishek is already married to Tanisha in Sarkar, remember?" he says cheekily.
The role of Subhash Nagre (Amitabh Bachchan) too has been changed. He won't be as enfeebled with age as suggested earlier.
"Abhishek's character will be substantially more in the forefront. But like every son in a business empire, he'll continue to look up to his father for guidance and support ," says Varma.
Varma appears wary of giving the impression that Sarkar 2 is being made to promote the Bachchans. He says he conceived of the remake much before Abhishek and Aishwarya became an item.
