This latest threat marks the second time Salim Khan'father of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan'has been targeted in the last few months. Both incidents occurred near his residence, the iconic Galaxy Apartment located in Bandra West, Mumbai.
The newest threat unfolded on Wednesday morning when Salim Khan was out for his routine morning walk at the Bandra Bandstand, a popular promenade near his home. Around 8:45 a.m., while taking a brief rest on a bench in front of the Windermere Building, Khan was approached by a man and a woman riding a scooter. The duo was reportedly wearing a burqa, and their arrival caused alarm as they sped toward him from the direction of the Galaxy Building.
Upon confronting Khan, the couple chillingly asked, "Lawrence Bishnoi ko bheju kya?" (Should I send Lawrence Bishnoi?), a direct reference to the infamous gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Without waiting for a response, they quickly turned around and left the scene.
Following the incident, Salim Khan's personal bodyguard, Deepak Borse, immediately lodged a complaint at the Bandra Police Station. Senior Police Inspector Sanjay Marathe confirmed the registration of a case against the unidentified individuals and launched an investigation. Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding area to identify the culprits, though no arrests have been made so far.
This recent threat is part of a string of warnings received by Salim Khan and his son, Salman Khan, over the past several months. The incidents have sent shockwaves through Bollywood, leading to heightened concerns about the safety of the Khan family.
Back in April, their security was jeopardized when two unknown assailants fired shots at the Galaxy Apartment during the early hours of the morning. Although no one was injured in the attack, the assailants managed to escape, leaving behind a sense of fear and unease.
Later that day, the notorious Bishnoi gang took responsibility for the attack, labeling it the 'first and last warning' to the Khan family. This bold claim stirred anxiety within the entertainment industry, as many wondered about the reasons behind these repeated threats.
After an intensive manhunt, two suspects, Vicky Gupta (24) and Sagar Pal (23), were apprehended from Bhuj town in Gujarat's Kachchh district. The area is located just 325 kilometers away from the India-Pakistan border, raising further concerns about the possible links and influence of organized crime syndicates in cross-border activities.
In light of these escalating threats, security around Salim Khan, Salman Khan, and their family has been significantly increased. The Mumbai Police are leaving no stone unturned to ensure the safety of one of Bollywood's most prominent families.
These ongoing threats against the Khan family have brought to light the dangers that even public figures in India face from criminal organizations. The entertainment industry, often seen as a glittering world of fame and fortune, is also vulnerable to the darker forces of society.
The investigation continues as authorities work to track down the unknown individuals responsible for the most recent threat. Fans and well-wishers of the Khan family remain hopeful that the culprits will soon be brought to justice.
With Bollywood's safety concerns growing, this situation serves as a stark reminder of the challenges faced by high-profile figures, even in an industry as glamorous as film.
